VBS Pharmaceuticals, a majority owned subsidiary of Vascular BioSciences, develops therapeutic treatments for vascular-based diseases.

Our current pharmaceutical product pipeline is based upon Dr. Ruoslahti’s scientific findings of the mechanisms and pathways underlying vascular-based diseases and drug targets that arise from our ongoing research with VBS Interventional's endoarterial biopsy catheter into vascular-based disease formation and progression.

VBS Pharmaceuticals is developing therapeutic products based upon our R-Ras Vascular Quiescence platform to treat systemic and pulmonary hypertension, atherosclerosis, post angioplasty restenosis, diabetic vasculopathies such as peripheral vascular disease, acute respiratory distress syndrome, solid organ tumors, vasculitis, arteritis, capillaritis and other vascular-based diseases.

R-Ras, a small GTPase of the Ras family that regulates cell survival and integrin activity, plays an important role in neointimal hyperplasia, angiogenesis, vascular cell proliferation, pathological vascular remodeling, and endothelial activation.

R-Ras promotes vascular quiescence and plays an important role in blood vessel hemeostasis. VBS Pharmaceuticals’ R-Ras Vascular Quiescence product pipeline focuses on promoting R-Ras activity in smooth muscle and endothelial cells involved in vascular diseases in order to improve outcomes for vascular-based disease patients.
